We make our Italian amaro club sodas to be enjoyed on their own, but we've also had some fun using them in low-ABV cocktails.
Try subbing leisure soda for tonic to make a G&T that's not nearly as sweet. Add a splash to whiskey in place of plain soda water for the perfectly balanced highball. Or try one of our suggested recipes for a fun place to start...
Who's the Captain Now?
Paloma di Roma
The Altamericano is a refreshing, citrus-forward spritz that's quickly become our go-to aperitivo.
3-4oz Casamara Club Alta, to taste
Combine vermouth and Campari in a large wine glass filled with ice. Top with Alta and stir gently to combine. Garnish with orange wheel.
Pro tip: Replace about half of the Alta with sparkling wine, preferably prosecco, for the best spritz you've ever had.
The Vibe Check is a tart, herbaceous highball cocktail that's easy to make, easier to drink, and even easier on the eyes.
0.5oz Lemon Juice
2oz dark amaro, preferably Amaro Montenegro
Fill a chilled Collins glass with ice. Add the lemon juice, then the Onda. Stir gently. Float the Montenegro by pouring over the back of a spoon. Garnish with orange wheel.
Pro tip: Swap out the dark amaro for a dark rum (we love Smith & Cross) for something a bit more familiar, but just as delicious.
Who's the Captain Now? Fix yourself one of these easy-to-make, low-ABV sippers, and I reckon it's you.
3oz Casamara Club Capo
Add everything to a chilled rocks glass filled with ice and stir briefly. (For the full effect, stir with your finger. Just make sure you wash your hands first.) Garnish with an orange twist. Top off with more Lillet Rouge or Capo as you drink, if desired.
Pro tip: Can't find an aromatized red wine like Lillet Rouge? Grab your favorite sweet vermouth and use that instead!
We love the Paloma di Roma because grapefruit, cinnamon-spice, and mezcal were made for each other. Plus, the name is so much fun to say.
0.5oz lime juice
2oz Casamara Club Sera
Build in a chilled, salt-rimmed Collins glass, then add ice. Top with Sera. Garnish with half a grapefruit wheel.
Pro tip: Having trouble with the salt rim? Cut a notch in a lime wedge, and run that along the rim first. Then pour some salt on a plate, and dip the outer lip of your glass right into the salt.
